I got lucky with my car. It lived in Virginia Beach most of it's life up until two years before I got ahold of it. Now if I could just make some progress on the damned thing, I'd be doing good and posting pics myself! LOL!

And if I could run south, I probably would! Winter is beginning to wear on these old bones.

I recieved my rear blackout from Mike H. I wanted to go with the magnets so there would be no screws but it didnt work the way I wanted it to. So I went ahead and screwed it in. I want the pilot car anyway and the screws are visible on the show, minor detail that the average Joe will not even notice. I also made some templates and cut out the turn signal covers for the front bumper. I used a dremel to cut them out of rectangle pieces, I still need to glue or 3m tape them down. My scanner should arrive soon and then all I need to complete the exterior (besides bodywork and paint) is one hubcap. My brother is supposed to help me get the bodywork I need done and the tranny swap so I can drive it (hopefully by summer).

Here are a few pics.

Those blackouts look really good! You did a nice job on getting them fitted to the nose. I was just thinking too, you could use windshield urethane to attach them to the nose if you weren't worried about having to remove them again.

Sorry it's been so long to reply. This car is officially now my parts car. I ran into some financial issues, so I had the car up for sale last year. I was contacted by a guy who wanted to buy just the KR parts. So I ended up selling by RL bumper, Sid 32 LED scanner, 15" wheels, 3 GM caps, blackout, PMD's and a few other misc parts. The guy got a steal, $1750 for all of it. After I received my tax return, I found a sweet, clean 1982 Trans Am with every option except the rear wiper, no locking gas cap, and no power hatch release. The car was on early third gen and had 90K original miles, matching numbers 305 Crossfire, T tops, PMD's with power driver seat etc. I got it for a great deal. I drove it home to Ohio form Massachusetts. The major issues are that it needs the power steering box, pump replaced, A/C needs checked out, the climate control fan/flap needs checked out, the valve covers are leaking a little as well as possibly the main seal, I need new weather stripping for the T-tops asap! It did have some minor rist in the t top channels, I already repaired that and sealed with POR 15.

I want to try to swap the rear hatch release system onto this car so I can have a nice blackout with out a key hole.

I'll see if I remember how to attatch pics..

That is all I have for now. I do not have a garage, so he is sitting under a car cover for the winter.
