Headlight bezels

Postby kleist » Sat Oct 15, 2016 12:31 pm

Can anyone please tell me about trimming the headlight bezels, Do both the top and bottom lips need to be shaved or trimmed or just the bottom. How much do you take off. My body shop guy is at that stage with the nose and seeking advice. Thanks

On the 82 to 90, when the lights are closed and you're looking at it, the part of the headlight bezel just to the side of the front turn signal, it has a lip that goes along the bottom...
When you pop the headlights up, that lip is now a 3 sided rectangle...
Trim that bottom piece and up the curve to the top off...
It's just so that the lip doesn't catch / scratch / break the KR nose....

91 and 92's had different size lights and bezels and do not require that you trim them...

See the word PONTIAC on the headlight? It has a lip below it & corner you have to trim so it doesn't catch on the KR Nose...

Or just remove the bezels.
You can't see them at night (when you have your headlights on) anyway...

It's kinda ugly without the bezel...
