Is this is high quality nose?

Postby Dozer789 » Fri May 15, 2015 5:13 pm

I found a nose for sale on craigslist for $200. Is this a good quality one?
The person who is selling it said they bought it for $1,500 online.

Your images aren't showing up on my laptop, Buddy. Can you check and see if you've uploaded correctly please? If the seller is telling the truth then that nose must either be very good or he was ripped off. How is the rigidity? Is the GRP thick or can you see daylight through it?

Here is the link for it: http://battlecreek.craigslist.org/pts/4986572555.html

I have also not seen it in person. I just saw listing today, and will possibly get it.

Well, i'm far from being an expert on KR noses but for $200 what do you have to lose? It looks ok to me in the pics. If i were in your shoes i'd buy it. If it turns out to be a lightweight POS you can simply stiffen it up by adding more GRP to the inside of it.
Maybe someone else can ID the part and give an opinion.

Thats not a 1500 new nose. If anything its a 600 to 700$ nose imo. You can get a good new nose for under a grand from jacob that looks alot better then that one

Yep...Rob lists a season 3 nose on his site for $1000 brand new and there's nothing on his site that indicates that he's no longer selling.

Or billy gunter. billy makes some quality parts!

I did the whole $400 nose thing when i started. BIG MISTAKE! Thin fiberglass and warped parts. The mounting tabs for the nose was just crap! The mounting tab were recessed by an inch. Not flush like it should be. This caused the nose to overlap my fenders, chipping my paint. :(
