Crossfire Misfiring

Postby NZKnight » Sun Jun 14, 2015 4:30 am

Hi team,

I've just had my 305 Crossfire engine rebuilt and have replaced all the gaskets in the crossfire. When I start the car now it runs for a short while then the check engine light comes on and the engine begins to rough idle and with the occasional misfire. If I rev the engine yo around 3000RPM it runs better and the check engine light goes out. When I checked the code it was displaying 22. I checked the TPS and it seems to be ok with a resistance value of 1500K - 4600K. Also can't see any obvious vacuum leaks.
Any ideas?

Cheers... Greg

CFIs can be very sensitive. One little, tiny problem can the set the whole system out of whack.

Make sure the TPS is set at 0.525 volts.

Even if there is no sign of leaks, replace the all vacuum hoses anyway.

Also, replace the MAP sensor. And have new spark plugs and leads fitted.

Good luck,

Adam.
